Obituary of Paul Spampanato
Paul Spampanato, 58, of Farmingdale passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, February 3, 2017. Paul was born in Orange, raised in Ocean Twp. and had lived in Farmingdale since 1983. Growing up in the family roofing business, Paul worked for his father then for JDS, Millstone. Most recently he was working for Strober-Wright Roofing in Lambertville. A passion for motorcycles, Paul was an Enduro rider until retiring to his Harley-Davidson. Relishing in the time spent in the backyard, he enjoyed feeding his Koi fish and gardening. He grew everything from flowers to corn to figs. Paul was known for his appetite, he didn't eat to live, he lived to eat. He adored his dogs, was a doting Papa, loving Dad, and devoted husband.
Paul is survived by his wife, Joann Spampanato; three children, Catrina Tice and her husband, Daniel of Jackson; Stephanie Reiff and her husband, Robert of Jackson and Andrew Spampanato of Farmingdale; three grandchildren, Julia, Jeremy and Cooper; his father, Dominick Spampanato of Bradenton, FL; his mother, Rose Spampanato of Brick; five siblings, Catarina Bilotta of Brick, Pary Spampanato of Brick, Mary Knight of Bradenton, FL, Dominick Spampanato of Brick and Joseph Spampanato of Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Angela O'Sullivan of Brick; brothers-in-law, Brian O'Sullivan of Ocean Township and Mark O'Sullivan of Dallas, GA; and his faithful canine companions, Gracie and Sully.
A visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 8:30 AM for the procession to his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson.
