Betty was 8 years older than me so we were not close, but she was always kind to her
little cousin, Mary Elaine. I liked visiting my Uncle Eddie and Aunt Elizabeth's house
because Betty had her own room with horse pictures around the mirror; we played
45 records and rode on the swing in the cellar. Birch or root beer was the drink along with Aunt Elizabeth's great food and wonderful cookies.
Betty and I both graduated from St Vincent Academy in Newark and I know she later
took part in students' trips.
My brother,Jack, stayed in contact with Betty. The last time I saw her was in 2011 for
a luncheon. We had a good time -they both ordered pot roast - a traditional meal from our childhood.
I was so sorry to hear of her death.
