Obituary of Agata Di Sclafani
Agata Di Sclafani, 78, of Manalapan passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. One of thirteen children, Agata was born in Palermo, Italy. She immigrated to the United States in 1964 and settled in Brooklyn. In the Fall of 2003, she moved to Manalapan to be closer to her grandchildren. Agata derived so much joy from using her home remedies and feeding her family her Italian specialties. She was a devoted, selfless and angelic wife, mother and grandmother.
Agata is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Giuseppe Di Sclafani; daughters, Ann Marie Amato and her husband, David of Manalapan; and Santa Balsano and her husband, Daniele of Brooklyn; and six grandchildren, Sabrina, Francesco, Giuseppe, Davide, Massimo and Rocco.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 7:30 AM on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the funeral home for the procession to her 9:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 91 Stillhouse Road, Millstone.
