Obituary of Ellin Gates

Ellin M. Gates (Nee Nicholas) of Howell Township, NJ 81 passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Geraldine Thompson Care Center, Allenhurst, NJ, after a lengthy and courageous battle with emphysema and heart disease. Mrs. Gates was born in Jersey City and had lived in Hoboken before moving to Howell in 1994. Ellin's family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at CareOne in Wall, NJ, for the compassionate care Ellin received while there and also a very heart warm and heartfelt thank you to the wonderful nurses, aides and office staff at Geraldine Thompson Care Center for the compassion, friendship and care they gave to our mother. This will never be forgotten by her family. She worked for Sign Magazine in Union City and North American Phillips Co., in Hoboken, before retiring in 1994 after 20 years as a legal secretary for the City of Hoboken. A daughter, Barbara Gates, in 1968 She is survived by Daughter & Son-In-Law: Susan E. & Bill Aberer of Howell, NJ Daughter & Close Friend: Deborah A. Gates-Kane & Susan O'Hearn of Howell, NJ 2 Granddaughters & Their Boyfriends: Samantha Susan Kane & Gregory Gombosi Meagan Susan Kane & Pete Hernandez. Her Precious Feline Companion: Lucas N: Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp., NJ on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday morning, at 11:30 AM, at the funeral home. Private interment will follow.
