Obituary of George Graff

George Graff, 82, of Jackson, died on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Bartley Health Care in Jackson. Mr. Graff was born in Jersey City and had lived in Woodbridge before moving to Freehold in 1994. He worked in the Maintenance and Purchasing Departments for Merck, Inc., Rahway, for 25 years retiring in 1988. Mr. Graff was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He was a former member of the American Legion, Colonia, and the V.F.W., Avenel. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion, in 1952; brothers, Bernard and Otto; sisters, Elaine, Betty, and Anna. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Eugene Grodzki of Freehold; one grandson, Mark Grodzki and his fiancee, Maureen Condron, of Calif.; one sister, Margaret Diblasi of Jersey City; and many nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends and relatives will be from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Rd. (Route 524), Freehold Twp., NJ, with his Memorial Service to follow at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
