Obituary of Bernard Saray

Bernard J. Saray of Jackson, NJ passed away on June 19, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Bernie was the loving and adoring husband of 55 years to the late Marian (nee Garson). He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Mary Saray of Jersey City, NJ. He was the beloved father of daughter, Donna Annett of Hopatcong, NJ and son, David Saray of Manalapan, NJ. Bernie was the loving grandfather to daughter Donna and son-in-law Norman's sons Bryant and Raymond. He was grandfather to son David and daughter-in-law Jayne's daughters Alyssa and Emily, and sons Christopher and Andrew. He is also survived by his sister Mary Massar of Monroe, Connecticut. He retired with Marian to Cape Cod in 1990 for 20 years following 35 years in Lyndhurst, NJ after having been raised in Jersey City. Bernie cherished his retirement years with Marian on the Cape, visiting beaches, sights and the relaxing lifestyle and enjoying each other. He got great joy caring meticulously for his garden and doing home improvement projects around his homes. Bernie worked for and retired from General Electric following 30 years of dedicated employment. He also served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean war. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM with his funeral service at 6:30 PM with Rev. Fredrick B. May, officiating. Private cremation will follow.
