Obituary of Jay Hyland

Jay F. Hyland, 86, of Perrineville, Millstone Twp, NJ died on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at home. Mr. Hyland was born in South River and lived in Old Bridge and Robertsville section of Marlboro, before moving to Perrineville eight years ago. Mr. Hyland was a pipe fitter for over thirty-five years retiring in 1985 from 3-M in Freehold. Mr. Hyland was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the European-African-Middle East Theaters during World War II where he participated in the invasion of Sicily, Salerno, Anzio and the invasion at Normandy Beach, and was the recipient of 4 Bronze Stars. Jay was a former member of the South Old Bridge Fire Company and was a member of the Livingston Lodge #11 F. & A.M. in Orange. Predeceased by two brothers, Alfred in 1990 and Daniel in 2006. Surviving is his wife of fifty-six years, Lillian M. Brautigam of Millstone Twp.; Two sons and Daughter-in-law, Jay H and Rita Hyland of Millstone Twp, William R. Hyland of Millstone Twp; two grandchildren, Jay N. and Heidi Hyland of Millstone Twp. Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp., NJ on Tuesday April 28, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend His funeral service on Wednesday April 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
