Obituary of Henry Swakopf

Henry B. Swakopf, 99, of West Milford, formerly of Silvermead, Freehold, NJ. died on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Milford Manor Nursing Home, West Milford, NJ. Henry was born and raised in Newark and had lived in Nutley and Freehold before moving to West Milford in 2009. Mr. Swakopf retired in 1979 as a supervisor at Furman Leather, Maspeth, NY, prior to that he had worked at S&S Handle, Newark and Wrights Aeronautical, Paterson. Henry was a former member of the Silvermead Men's Club. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary in 1983 and his second wife, Gloria in 2009. He is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-laws, Donald and Marie Swakopf of Webster, NY and Henry and Janet Swakopf of Mine Hill, NJ; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Robert Takesh of Clifton, NJ; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren. Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Rd., (Route 524) Freehold Township on Tuesday, May 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 20, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
