Obituary of Walter Lucas
Walter M. Lucas, 68, of Howell, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Mr. Lucas was born in Belle Vernon, Pa., and had lived in West Long Branch before moving to Howell in 1970. He retired as a facilities maintenance supervisor for Air Cruisers, Wall, prior to that he worked for Lily Tulip, Holmdel. Mr. Lucas was a volunteer fireman at the Freewood Acres Fire Company from 1973-1982.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carol in 2007. He is survived by one son, Craig Lucas of Fort Benning, Ga.; three daughters, Karen Lucas and her fiancé Michael Lewis of Neptune, Christine Peslak and her boyfriend Kevin Polson of Howell, and Jennifer Regan and her husband John of Howell, NJ; eight grandchildren; his mother, Elizabeth Lucas of Avalon, Pa.; a brother, Robert Lucas of Stubbensville, Ohio; and his sister, Dorothy Druessel of Avalon, Pa.
Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Rd. (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Monday, June 22, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment is private.
