Obituary of William Viant
William S. Viant, 81, of Howell, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009, at home. Mr. Viant was born in Baraga, Mich. and had lived in Maplewood and Radford, Va. before moving to Howell 15 years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was also a member of the Western Electric Retired Employees Association and a past president of the International Management Corps of the YMCA. He retired as a section chief for Western Electric, Kearny in 1985, where he was employed for over 33 years.
He was predeceased by his son, William E. Viant, in 2006; and two sisters, Beverly Messick and Elizabeth Ridgell. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Cynthia Viant of Howell; two grandsons, Steaphan Clement of Bozeman, Montana, and Michael Clement of Howell; and a sister, Patricia Holden of California.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 10 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale.
