Obituary of Goldie Emma Wilson Parenteau

Goldie Emma Wilson Parenteau, 82, of Freehold Township, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at home. Mrs. Parenteau was born in Freehold Township and was a lifelong resident of Freehold Township. She was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township. She was a member of the Monmouth, Pomona and State Grange. She was also a member of the Freehold Township Independent Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Freehold Township Heritage Society. She attended Freehold Township's one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Freehold High School, Class of 1944, with perfect attendance. She supported every single sporting event her family participated in. Mrs. Parenteau was a loomer at the A&M Karagheusian Rug Mill, Freehold. She then was a school bus driver for the Freehold Township Board of Education for over 41 years, retiring in 1998. She was predeceased by a brother, Joe Wilson, in 2000. Mrs. Parenteau is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roland; three daughters and their spouses, Terry and Malcolm Parker of Manalapan, Pat and John Eisemann of Manalapan, and Mary Lou and Tom Kivela of Bowers Beach, Del.; five grandchildren, Pam and Brian Duke, Gwen Parker and Gregg Burnstein, Travis Eisemann, Jesse Eisemann, and Andrew Kivela; five great-grandchildren, Malcolm, Colin and Emma Duke, Katie and Scott Burnstein; a brother, Lemuel Wilson of Royal Hall, N.C.; and a sister, Charlotte Borden of Freehold Township. Visiting will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10 at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by her 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will be private.
