Obituary of Charlotte Smith
Charlotte C. Smith, 90, of Freehold passed away at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp., on Wednesday, August 12, 2009. Mrs. Smith was born and grew up in Fort Lee, NJ, and had lived in Teaneck before moving to the Freehold area in 2003.
Mrs. Smith was a former parishioner and member of the Rosary Altar Society of the Madonna Catholic Church, Fort Lee, NJ. She was a member and past commander of the Lady Foresters of America for over 65 years. She was an office worker for Prentice-Hall Publishing, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, for 20 years retiring in 1970.
She was predeceased by her husband, F. Thornley Smith, in 1967.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters and 1 son-in-law: Evie Franks-Mehr, and her husband William Mehr, of Interlaken, NJ, and Doris Smith of Freehold, NJ, and two Grandchildren: Amanda Cameron & her husband, Sanford ,of Newtown, CT, and Amy Voss of Martha's Vineyard, Mass.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at 10:00 AM at the Madonna Catholic Church on The Hill, (Located in Madonna Cemetery), Fort Lee, NJ. Interment will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. No viewing. Arrangements by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Twp., NJ.
