Obituary of Rosemarie Wottrich

Rosemarie A. Wottrich, 69, of Freehold, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 29, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Visiting will be at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Monday, Aug. 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the funeral home for her rite of committal, followed by her 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Mrs. Wottrich was born in Newark and had moved in 1964 to Woodbridge, where she lived for 38 years. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Church and Rosary Society, and the Lyndhurst Elks Emblem Club. In 2002, Mrs. Wottrich settled in Freehold Township, where she was on the Executive Board of the Silvermead Community Club, the board of the Tenant Association and the Silvermead Bocci team. She was also a member of the Freehold Senior Center and the Silvermead Rosary Society and was the vice queen of the Red Hat Society of Freehold. She was also a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Freehold Township. Until her retirement in 2000, Mrs. Wottrich was a receptionist for Michael Stevens in Edison. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1974. Mrs. Wottrich is survived by one son, John J. and his wife, MaryJo, of Freehold Township; one daughter, Sandra and her husband, Peter Peckhardt, of Middlesex; five grandchildren, Nicole, Johna, Christofer, Erika and Dayna; one great granddaughter, Annabelle; two brothers, Archie Leonardis of Woodbridge, and Carmen and his wife, Nan Leonar-dis, and their daughter, Nanette, of Jackson; and several nieces, nephews and very dear friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Rosemarie, may be made to the American Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 801 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702, and would be appreciated.
