Obituary of Robert DeVries

Robert J. DeVries, Sr., 77, of Jackson, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2009, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Mr. DeVries was born in Lansing, Illinois, and had lived there before moving to Farmingdale and then to Jackson in 1992. Mr. DeVries retired as a Field Engineer with Electronics Associates Incorporated, West Long Branch. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lois Raught, and a sister, Jean Lutke. He is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Norma J. DeVries, of Jackson; 3 Sons, Robert DeVries, Jr. of Pt. Pleasant Borough, Allen DeVries and his wife, Justine, of Tuckerton and Martin DeVries and his wife, Linda, of North Hanover Twp.; 1 brother, Alfred DeVries of Kalamazoo, Michigan; 4 sisters, Dorothy DeYoung of Crown Point, Indiana, Mildred Hoogeveen of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Donna Wands of Dyer, Indiana and Bonnie Boomsma of Wheatfield, Indiana; 15 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp., NJ, on Friday, October 16th, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM with his funeral service at 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
