Obituary of Anthony Modafferi
Anthony "Tony" Joseph Modafferi, 73, of Freehold Twp. , passed away on Tuesday, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp. Mr. Modafferi was born and had lived in Brooklyn and Great Kills, Staten Island, before moving to Freehold Twp. in 2003.
He was a former parishioner of St. Clare's Catholic Church, Staten Island. He was also a former member of the New York Pigeon Combine. Mr. Modafferi was a dock builder for the City of New York retiring in 1999.
He was predeceased by a son, Frederic Modafferi , and a sister, Catherine Ascione. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Maureen Modafferi; 1 son, Vincent Modafferi of Lake Hopatcong; 1 daughter, AnneMarie DeDomenico and her husband, Chris, of Freehold Twp.; 3 grandchildren, Anthony Modafferi, Christopher DeDomenico and Amanda DeDomenico; 2 brothers, Victor Modafferi of Brooklyn and Danny Modafferi of Queens; 3 sisters, Joann Pepe of Monroe; Frances Sena of Brooklyn and Julia Pizzuti of Brooklyn and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Twp., NJ, on Friday, November 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 7th, for the Rite of Committal followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Twp.
