Obituary of Betty Manis

Betty (Hollingsworth)Manis , 84, of Jackson Township, NJ passed away peacefully on November 10, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Forbes Road, PA and was the loving daughter of the late Curtin and Mabel Hollingsworth. She lived in Freehold, NJ and Washington, PA before moving to Jackson Township NJ in 2008. Mrs. Manis was employed as an administrative assistant with the Prudential Insurance Company, Greensburg, Pa for twenty years, before retiring in 1962 to become a full time devoted wife and mom. She was an elegant lady who was loved and admired by all who knew her, and will be sorely missed especially by her faithful canine companion "Suzie". In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert R. Manis on March 12, 2009, her "big sister" Jean H. Nichols and three brothers Donald, Marlin, and Elden Hollingsworth. Surviving are her cherished children, a daughter Holly J. Manis of Jackson Township NJ with whom she lived; and a son David S. Manis of Somerville, MA; a niece Carol N. Connell and nephew Curt Nichols. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr funeral home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township, NJ on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and on Saturday November 14th from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral services on Saturday, November 14th at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Adelphia Cemetery, Adelphia, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty's memory may be made to the Bethesda United Methodist Church, 928 Main Street, Adelphia NJ 07710 and would be appreciated.
