Obituary of Natalia Haas

Natalia "Natascha" Haas, 83 of Whiting, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Mrs. Haas was born in Palmse, Estonia and emigrated to The United States from Germany in 1952 sponsored by the Methodist Church, settling in Sea Brook Farms, Vineland. She had lived in Detroit and Milford, CT before moving to Lakewood in 1968 and then retired to Whiting in 2002. Mrs. Haas retired as an emergency room technician at the Paul Kimball Hospital, Lakewood after 25 years. Natascha was a member of the German Baltic Association. She was predeceased by her former husband, Gunter Haas in 1985. Mrs. Haas is survived by her son: George Haas of Lakewood; three daughters: Nadja Malahoff of Lakewood, Maria Haas-Guenther and her husband Charles of Forked River, and Catharina Haas of Lakewood; one grandson: Joseph Stanley-Haas; two brothers: Michael Schaedle of Philadelphia and Nikita Powszedny of Canada; two sisters: Olga Kulak of Sea Cliff, NY and Maria Lomakin of Dresden, Maine; and many nieces and nephews. She was Mamma Haas to everyone else. Pannyhida will be at St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 200 Alexander Ave., Howell on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 6:30 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM funeral service at the Cathedral on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Jackson.
