Obituary of Shirley Cushing

Shirley L. Cushing, 86, of Asbury Park passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Manor By The Sea, Ocean Grove. Mrs. Cushing was born in and had lived Denver, Colorado and Bayonne before moving to Asbury Park in 2002. She retired as a telephone operator for Telephone Systems, Denver Colorado. Mrs. Cushing was predeceased by her husband Thomas, in 1976, her son John Cushing, her son-in-law William Wasko and her grandson Michael A. Anzano. She is survived by a son Thomas Cushing and his wife Jane of Ocean Township; two daughters Barbara and her husband Tony Anzano of Farmingdale and Kathleen Wasko of Boyton Beach, Florida; a daughter-in-law Carol Cushing of Beachwood; her brother John and his wife Rachel Jones of San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 8:00 AM for her rite of committal followed by her 9:00 AM funeral mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Avenue, Farmingdale NJ. Interment will be on Saturday in Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Shirley may be made to the Michael Anzano Memorial Fund, 283 Cranberry Road, Farmingdale NJ 07727 and would be appreciated.
