Obituary of Anthony Rynk

Anthony J. Rynk, 84, of Freehold passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp. Mr. Rynk was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and had lived in East Brunswick before moving to Freehold in 1988. Tony was a graduate of Newark College of Engineering (NJIT), Class of 1950. Mr. Rynk was a mechanical engineer with Thomas & Betts Company for 30 years where he held several patents. After retiring, he worked as an engineer at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II in the Pacific on the USS Bennington. He was proud to be a member of the greatest of generations that fought for and made America the best nation in the world. He enjoyed gardening and was a super handyman. Tony is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen, of Freehold; 1 son & daughter-in-law, Robert & Judy Rynk of Cobbleskille, NY; 2 daughters, Joanne Scofield of Hamilton, NJ, and Donna Schratwieser of Mt. Laurel, NJ; 4 Grandchildren, Lindsey, Michael, Tyler & Daniel; 2 Brothers and 2 sisters-in-law, Edward and Estelle Rynk of Brick and Raymond and Arlie Rynk of Del Ray, FL. Tony was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp. on Friday, December 11, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at 9:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Twp. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery Mausoleum, 549 Route 520, Marlboro, NJ.
