Obituary of Robert Hallstrom
Robert E. "Bob" Hallstrom, 87, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Bob was born in Jersey City, raised in Valley Stream, NY, and had lived in River Edge and Basking Ridge before moving to Freehold Township in 2001. He received his Bachelor's of Science Degree from Columbia University. Bob was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He retired in 1978 as a forecaster for the Treasury Department of the Exxon Corporation, NYC. Bob worked for the Exxon Corporation, throughout the world in places such as Houston, Singapore and for the Esso Eastern, Far East Division for over thirty-five years.
He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Growney. Bob is survived by his wife, Eleanor Hallstrom; two sons, Greg Huhn and his wife, Kim of Manalapan and Stephen Huhn and his wife, Karen of Arizona; six grandchildren, Scott, Ryan, Kylie, Madison, Kate, and Philip.
Gathering at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM with his memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.
