Obituary of Catherine Clohessy
Catherine Clohessy, 86, of Allentown passed away on Friday, January 8, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton. Mrs. Clohessy was born in West Hoboken and had lived her whole life in Jersey City until moving to Farmingdale in 1999. She then settled to Allentown in 2003. She was a devoted supporter of Catholic charities and a steadfast contributor of many humane societies. Mrs. Clohessy was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Victories, Jersey City and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Clohessy; a sister, Ellen Pope, and a brother, Patrick Pritchard. Mrs. Clohessy is survived by her niece Elaine Mansfield and her husband Mike of Allentown.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 12, at 8:00 AM for the rite of committal followed by her 9:00 AM funeral mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Chapel, North Main Street., Farmingdale.
