Obituary of John Mangano
John Mangano, 89 of Freehold passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at home. Mr. Mangano was born in New York City and had lived in Englewood and Old Bridge before settling to Freehold where he lived for over 25 years. He retired as a Preston Truck Driver for forty years with the Teamsters Local, Jersey City. In retirement, John, along with his family, owned and operated Mangano's Hair Design, Manalapan. Also during his retirment, Mr. Mangano drove deliveries for Tuscany Food, Manalapan. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 177, Old Bridge.
John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marina Mangano; three daughters and sons-in-law: Sabrina and her husband Bob Caltabellta of Old Bridge; Raine and her husband Mike Haslach of Freehold; and Rhonda and her husband Anthony Provenzano of Boca Raton, Florida; and three grandsons: Jonathan, David and Anthony.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home at 7:45AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 for his rite of committal followed by his 8:45 AM funeral mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Asbury Ave., Farmingdale. Entombment will follow in Holmdel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Holmdel.
