Obituary of Adelaide Pockriss

Adelaide Pockriss, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Pockriss was born December 11, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY and had lived in Covered Bridge, Manalapan before moving to Cape Coral, FL. She was a New York City School Teacher for over 35 years. Adelaide was a lifetime member of Hadassah. She was also the former Secretary and President of the Gulf Coast Village Residents Association. Mrs. Pockriss loved theatre, reading and movies. She will be remembered by her loving family and her many friends. She is survived by her daughters: Linda and her husband Jim Rosenblum, and Laurie Bates; grandchildren: Lisa and her husband John Brooks, Marnie and her husband Chuck Hulan, Jeremy Bates and Derek Bates; great-grandchildren: Caden, Jarret and Avery Brooks, and Eleanor and Olivia Hulan. Relatives and friends may gather at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 10:00 AM until her11:00 AM funeral service. Interment will follow in Mount Judah Cemetery, Ridgewood, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Adelaide may be made to the Gulf Coast Village Foundation, 1333 Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33991 and would be appreciated.
