Obituary of Margie McDaniel

Margie R. McDaniel, 82, of Manchester passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Margie was born and raised in Cooleemee, NC and had lived throughout the world as an Air Force spouse and homemaker. She settled to Manchester in 1993. Margie was predeceased by her husband, Howard in 1991; four brothers, Lee, Tommy, Otis, and Jay "Cotton"; and two sisters, Mildred and Ann. She is survived by: a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Teddy Shostak of Howell; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Karina McDaniel of Mexico; five grandchildren, Anthony Shostak and his wife, Kristin of Wall, Michael McDaniel and his wife, Ellen of Clemmons, NC, Kimberly D'Amore of Howell, Melissa McDaniel of Davidson County, NC, and Annika McDaniel of Mexico; five and a half great grandchildren, Jake, Luke, Hannah, Abigail, and Jordan; many nieces and nephews; a former daughter-in-law, Sarah McDaniel of Cooleemee, NC; and her faithful feline companion, Sylvester. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 8:30 PM with her funeral service at 8:30 PM. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Currytown Baptist Church, 7740 Highway 150 N., Lexington, NC from 6:00 to 7:30 PM with her memorial service to follow at 7:30 PM. Inurnment to follow on Wednesday, April 7th at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC at 11:00 AM.
