Obituary of Peter Partala

Peter N. Partala, 84, of Howell passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Peter was born in Russia and had lived in Germany before settling to Howell in 1951. He was an auto mechanic throughout the area until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Partala was a parishioner of St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Church, Howell. Peter was a loving husband, devoted father, and dear friend. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lubow in 2009, his parents and a brother, John Partala. Peter is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Maria of Howell; two sons: Eugene P. Partala in Aston, PA, and Alexander P. Partala of Howell; two daughters: Sieglinde "Linda" and her husband, Robert Bonfilio of Brockway, PA, and Maria A. Partala of Howell; one grandson: John Martin Bonfilio of Overland Park, Kansas; two brothers-in-law: Michael Pichler and his wife, Frieda of Virginia, and Al Byer and his wife, Diane of Oklahoma and his nieces, Jill and Claudine. Pannyhida will be at St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 220 Alexander Avenue, Howell on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral liturgy on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Cathedral. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood.
