Obituary of Veronica Moore

Veronica J. Moore, 86, of The Villages, Freehold, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010, at home. Mrs. Moore was born in Brooklyn and had lived in the Bayridge section of Brooklyn, Annadale section of Staten Island, and Ardmore Estates section of Freehold before moving to the Villages in 1996. Before becoming a homemaker, Veronica worked for the Federal Reserve, Manhattan. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale, where she coordinated and ran their CCD program for many years and also was a member of the Rosary Altar Guild. Mrs. Moore was a member of the former Howell Senior Citizens Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; her brother, Thomas Burke; and two sisters, Grace and Marion. Veronica is survived by her son, Michael G. Moore and his wife, Jacqueline and their son, Cole Spenser Moore of Jackson; a daughter, Teresa A. Moore and her husband, Brian Shirley of Roselle and their son, Doug Shirley and his wife, Jackie and their daughter, Kaitlyn of Kenilworth; one sister, Ethel Arnold of Newport News, Va.; one sister-in-law, Mary Burke of Staten Island, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 25 and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 26 at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather on Tuesday, April 27 at the funeral home for her rite of committal, followed by her funeral mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale at times to be announced. Interment will follow in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Veronica may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
