Obituary of James West

James R. West, Sr., 63, of Jackson passed away on Wednesday, May 5th, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp. Mr. West was born in Jersey City and had lived in Middletown before moving to Jackson 26 years ago. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam as an MP. He was a member of VFW Post #2179, Middletown, and also a member of the NJ State F.O.P. Lodge #174. Mr. West was a senior investigator for Internal Affairs at the NJ State Prison, Trenton, NJ for 25 years retiring 11 years ago. He was predeceased by a brother, Jackie West, who was killed in Vietnam, and a sister, Pam Panagioutou. He is survived by his wife, Arlene, of Jackson; 3 sons, Joseph Andrulonis, Jr. of Miami, FL, John West of Sparta, NJ, and James R. West, Jr. of Bloomingdale, NJ; a daughter, Dani-Lynn Damasco of Manchester, NJ; 7 Grandchildren, Jayme-Lynn Andrulonis, Jesse West, Christina West, Joshua Peterson, Daniel Damasco, Rachel West and Ryan West and a sister, Shelley Assenheimer of Lodi, NJ. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township, on Monday, May 10th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
