Condolences
Gabby, my oldest and dearest friend. How do you put 60+ years into words. Many, many great memories. From playing cowboys and cowgirls in our backyards at the young age of about 4 or 5, always making a family visit in Bloomfield, Darian, Conn. or in Middletown, N.J. was always spent time just talking. In Bloomfield was walked in Brookdale Park, In Darian we went to the beach and even wondered through a very old cemetary, in Middletown we went for a ride(of course in the convertable) to probably watch the ocean and even go for pizza. Through the young years we would always go to your birthday part(May 3rd) and then to mine(May 22nd) we always we close, like a brother and sister that always got along.
When I found out that I had cancer I told you that you had to be around and help me you had to pray for me to get better, you did that for me and I will never forget that.
We will see one another again and then we can remember all of these great times again.
Until then you have a very special place in my heart. I love you my Gabby.
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Debbie and I am Lois and Barry's neighbor. My husband Mark and I have come to know the Danielson family over the last 13 years since we moved here. Barry would always greet me with the kindest smile. I thought of Barry as a gentle and somewhat quiet man with a wonderful sense of humor. The story I am about to tell you illustrates this quite well!
We have two small dogs (Roxy & Murray) that have a tough time when meeting people for the first time. They are very shy and take quite a while to warm up to people, but they did know and like Lois and Barry very much. When my oldest dog was a puppy, Orion would come to my house and ask if she could "borrow" Roxy and take her into Lois and Barry's house for some play time. Roxy loved it and grew fond of them all. One day I ran into a particular problem. I had to go away for several days and I had no one to watch my dogs. My local kennel was full and my family was also going to be gone. I didn't know what I would do, but when I saw Lois outside one day, she assured me that she and Barry could handle the job with no problem. I was completely relieved! They said that they would come over the day before we left to go over what needed to be done. That next day there was a knock on my door. On my doorstep stood Barry dressed in jeans and a tee shirt with a tie and a sports coat on. He politely introduced himself (as if I didn't know him) and told me his qualifications and asked if he met my standards for the job of dog sitting. We all had the biggest laugh over that. I only wish today that I had taken a picture of him as he stood dressed on my doorstep applying for "the job." Needless to say, my dogs were very well taken care of and happy to have Barry to care for them.
Barry, I hope you are in a happy place now, smiling, free from all illness and watching over your family! You will be greatly missed!!!
Danielson Family, I am so very sorry for your Loss, He will have a special place in my heart, always. Thank - you for letting me in your lives, and visit with Barry. He was a special man, with a great sense of humor and an awesome patient. I will truly miss my visits, talks laughs and most of all "KISSES" :) with Barry, Please know I am here for all of you, always, and will cherish my time I had with Barry forever..... My Love and deepest Sympathy, Linda xoo
