Obituary of John Deeves
John Patrick Deeves, 44, of Lafayette Hill, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2010 surrounded by his family. Mr. Deeves graduated from Neptune Senior High School in 1983. He earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina in 1987, and a master's degree in Public Health from Boston University School of Medicine in 1997. John was employed by Independence Blue Cross of Philadelphia as Senior Director of Contracting and Network Services. He was a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and a fellow of Leadership Philadelphia. He previously served as Director of Network Contracting for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care in Massachusetts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Jill Greenberg Deeves; two sons: Adam James and Jack Harrison Deeves; his mother and step-father, Nancy Lee and William J. Moore of Spring Lake; his father and step-mother, Robert John and Theresa Deeves of Neptune City; two sisters, Katherine Anne and her husband, Edgar King of Interlaken, and Patricia Eileen and her husband, Brian Tuberty of Chalfont, PA; a step-brother, Mark Moore and his wife, Sharon of Hopkinton, MA; three step-sisters: Karyn Jarmer of Monmouth Beach, JoAnn Jarmer of Neptune City, and Kelly and her husband, Rick Koenig of Bayville; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marjorie and Stanley Gutman of Bayside, NY; his brother-in-law, Seth Greenberg, M.D., of Virginia Beach, VA and 8 nieces and nephews.
John will forever be remembered for his love of family, and his unfailing caring and kindness to others. He was a light to all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 907 4th Ave., Spring Lake, NJ. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Wall Twp. Memorial contributions in memory of John may be made to either St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 907 4th Avenue, Spring Lake, NJ 07762 or to the VNA of Greater Philadelphia Hospice, 3300 Henry Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19129.
