Obituary of Mitchell Friedman

Mitchell "Mitch" S. Friedman, 45, of Freehold passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold after a courageous battle with cancer with his wife by his side. Mr. Friedman was born in the Bronx, NY and had lived in Co-op City, Poughkeepsie, and River Edge before moving to Freehold. Mitch was a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and Brooklyn College. He was a computer programmer for Bessemer Trust, Woodbridge. Prior to that, he had worked for IDT, Newark. He was predeceased by his mother, Anne Friedman and a son, Joshua David Friedman. Mitch is survived by his wife, Vickie Friedman of Freehold; a son, Chris Friedman of Freehold; his father, Bernard Friedman of Jamesburg; two brothers: Alan and Mark Friedman; a sister, Sandra; his father and mother-in-law: Bob and Roxy Valtinson of Grand Rapids, MN; two sisters-in-law: Karla Brueske of Zimmerman, MN and Tracy Knighton of Coon Rapids, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow. The family will observe Shiva on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 10:00 to 4:00 PM at their home.
