Obituary of Christine Murrell
Christine Eleanor Briggs Murrell, 31, of Katy, Texas, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at home with her family at her side, after a short battle with lung cancer. Chrise was born in Neptune, grew up in Freehold, and had lived in Hoboken before moving to Texas in 2005. She was a graduate of Freehold Township High School, Class of 1997. Chrise was also a graduate of Rutgers College in 2001 where she was the president of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Rutgers Chapter. She then graduated from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication, Syracuse University with a Master's in Advertising. Chrise was a teacher at Memorial Parkway Junior High School, Katy, Texas. Prior to her teaching, she was a yoga instructor and stay at home Mom. Chrise's family was her love and art was her passion.
She was predeceased by her father, Stephen T. Briggs, in 1992. Chrise is survived by her husband: Andrew R. Murrell of Katy, Texas; her son: Drew Murrell of Katy, Texas; her mother and step-father: Donna Briggs and Donald Deieso of Princeton; two brothers: Stephen T. Briggs, Jr. and his wife, Rachael, and their daughters, Katelyn and Jennifer of Waxhaw, NC, and Todd D. Briggs and his wife, Vita, and their daughters, Sophia and Natalie of Freehold; her grandfather: C. Clifford Briggs of Monroe; her sister-in-law and her husband: Amy and Clint Kiemsteadt and their children, Kennedy, Graham and Luke of Round Rock, TX; her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Donald and Bobbi Murrell of Georgetown, TX; and her extended family and friends.
There will be a receiving of family and friends at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will be private. Chrise's love was her devotion to Drew, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the educational fund established for Drew to Andrew Robert Murrell Jr. Trust, C/O Austin County State Bank, P.O.
