Obituary of Helen Cannon
Helen M. Cannon (O'Toole), 78, of Jacobstown, NJ, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010, with her children by her side. A native of Chicago, IL, she received her BA from Mundelein College, IL, and her MA in Education from USC, CA. She worked in education for over 40 years, retiring as a teacher at St. Mary's Catholic School, Bordentown, NJ. She was a volunteer in the Girl and Boy Scouts, Red Cross, USAF Wives organizations and Catholic Chapel activities in the U.S. and Germany during her husband's assignment with the military.
She was predeceased by her husband, Matthew M. Cannon, Major USAF Ret. and a sister, Peggy Kolba. Helen is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark & Kathy Cannon of Freehold and Michael and Theresa Cannon of Howell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Norman Bright of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Denise and Richard Poulillo of Howell, NJ, 14 Grandchildren, 1 Great grandchild and a sister, Patti Blackwood of Chicago, IL.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ, on Thursday, July 8th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Friday, July 9th at 8:30 AM followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at The Church of the Assumption, 76 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533. Interment to follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen's memory may be made to the Church.
