Obituary of Mary Spahn

Mary Therese McGee Spahn, 88, from the Geraldine L. Thompson Care Center, Allenwood passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010. Mrs. Spahn was born in Jersey City and had lived in Rivervale, Tinton Falls, Jacksonville, FL and the Villages, Howell before settling here in 2007. In addition to being a mother of eight, she worked as a legal secretary in New York City and Red Bank. Mrs. Spahn was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Spahn in 2005; four brothers: Frank, Philip, Patrick and Eugene McGee and two sisters: Eleanor Kealy and Jean Donnellon. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law: Stephen Spahn, Jr. and his wife, Christina of Hammonton; John Spahn and his wife, Ellen of Monmouth Beach; Kenneth Spahn and his wife, Karen of Freehold Township; and Thomas Spahn and his wife, Diane of Mims, FL; four daughters and two sons-in-law: Sally Mennen and her husband, Richard of Ithaca, NY; Donna Ames of Camden, Maine; Mary "Mimi" McGee and her husband, David Wright of Appleton, Maine and Patricia Spahn of Istanbul, Turkey; 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mary was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Her kind and gentle ways will be missed by all. There will be a receiving of family and friends at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. There will be a chapel service at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery Chapel, 350 Provinceline Road, Arneytown on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM.
