Obituary of Jack Ringwood
Jack Ringwood, 90, of Freehold Township passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at home. Mr. Ringwood was born and raised in Woodbridge and had lived in Carteret and retired to Marshall's Creek, PA before settling to Freehold Township in 2005. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the European and Pacific Theaters during World War II. He worked as a maintenance coordinator for F.M.C., Carteret for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. Jack was a former parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Carteret. He was the parish's first representative to the Bishop's Advisory Board and was a member of the Holy Name Society at the church. He was a charter member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, Carteret. He was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member and officer of the Mountain Manor Golf Club both of Marshall's Creek, PA.
Jack was predeceased by his son, Thomas; a brother, Robert Ringwood; and two sisters, Gertrude Musolf and Gladys VanLiew. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Clare Ringwood; two sons and a daughter-in-law: James K. Ringwood of Freehold Twp., and Brian C. and MaryLu Ringwood of Clayton, North Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-law: Kathy and Richard Koping, of Freehold Twp., and Patricia and Joseph Monahan of Neptune; nine grandsons; six great grandsons and a great granddaughter on the way.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Friday, August 20, 2010 for his rite of committal, followed by his 10:00 AM funeral mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jack may be made to the Pocono Hospital, C/O the Oncology Unit, 206 East Brown Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
