Obituary of Lubomir Vitanov
Lubomir Vitanov, 63, of Jackson passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Mr. Vitanov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and had lived in Howell before settling to Jackson 25 years ago. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union #9, Manalapan. Mr. Vitanov was a parishioner of St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Howell and a member of Rodina. Lubomir was his families rock and hero. He had special relationship with his granddaughters.
Mr. Vitanov was predeceased by his sister. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Julie Tkacenko Vitanov of Jackson; his son, Lou Lubomir Vitanov and his wife, Beth Marie of Howell; his daughter, Laurie Julie Coluni and her husband, Gregory of Point Pleasant; two granddaughters, Sophia Marie Vitanov and Angelina Elizabeth Vitanov; his mother-in-law, Galina Tkacenko of Jackson; and his nieces and nephews in Bulgaria.
Pannyhida will take place at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 220 Alexander Ave., Howell. Family and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the Cathedral. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir's Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Jackson.
