Obituary of John McMillan
John T. "Jack" McMillan, Jr., 76 of Howell passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at home. Mr. McMillan was born in Newark and had lived in Clark, South Amboy, and Point Pleasant before moving to Howell two years ago. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War aboard U.S.S. New Jersey. John retired in 1992 from AM Weismann Wholesale Meat, Perth Amboy after over 30 years as a Supervisor. He was also the former treasurer for the N.J. Parkinson Disease Association Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for 15 years. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post #5 both of Rahway. He will be sadly missed by all who he touched.
John was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Schaefer McMillan in 2002 and his daughter, Kathleen McMillan in 1974. He is survived by his son, Robert T. McMillan and his wife, Cynthia of Old Bridge; his daughter, Patricia Hruska and her husband, Robert of Howell; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Monday, August 30, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 8:30 AM for his rite of committal followed by his 9:30 AM funeral mass at St. Veronica's Catholic Church, 4215 Route 9 N, Howell. Interment will follow in St. Catharine's Cemetery, Spring Lake.
