Obituary of Harriet Matthews

Harriet S. Matthews, 93, of Freehold Twp. passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Hazlet, NJ. Mrs. Matthews was born in Irvington, raised in Union Beach and lived in Keyport. Mom-Mom, as she was known to all, was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family. She enjoyed knitting, making sweaters and afghans for her loved ones. She also enjoyed music and dancing. Mom-Mom was predeceased by her husband, Ray Matthews in 1984, her son, Ray, in 2007 and her granddaughter, Michelle, in 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Marilynn Turner of Manalapan, her son, Gary Matthews, and his wife, Maryann, of Union Beach and her daughter-in-law, Margaret Matthews of Hazlet; 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, from 12:00 Noon until her 1:00 PM funeral service at the funeral home.
