Obituary of Cornelius Keohane
Cornelius Keohane, Sr., 85, of Jackson, NJ, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010. Mr. Keohane was born in Manhattan and had lived in Staten Island, NY; Woodbridge, NJ and Spring Hill, FL, before moving to Jackson.
He was a member of the U.S. Naval Armed Guard and past commander of the American Legion, Post #1364, Staten Island, NY. Mr. Keohane was a Fourth Degree Member of the St. Joan of Arc Knights of Columbus Council and also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society both of Spring Hill, FL. He retired as a Security Enforcement Officer for the U.S. Treasury in Manhattan, NY.
Mr. Keohane was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, in 2006; two brothers, Gerard and Edward Keohane and a sister, Cecilia Doyle. He is survived by four sons, Raymond of Richmond, VA, Robert of Spring Hill FL, Cornelius, Jr., of Mt. Holly, NJ and Michael of Freehold Township, NJ; two daughters, Maureen Hinds of Jackson, NJ and Donna Silogy-Gigante of Freehold Township, NJ; 9 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ, on Thursday, September 16, 2010, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Friends and relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at 9:00 AM on Friday, September 17, 2010, at the funeral home followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, NJ. Interment will be private. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made in Cornelius' name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
