AGE: 85 FORMERLY OF FREEHOLD
Funeral service for Gerard H. Rillstone, 85, of Edgewater, FL, who died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie, FL, will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Settle-Wilder Chapel, New Smyrna Beach, FL with The Reverend Williston C. Brewer, Edgewater United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born in Scranton, PA, Mr. Rillstone moved to this area in the mid eighties from Freehold, NJ. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, then worked for the federal government as a budget manager. A member of Edgewater United Methodist Church, Mr. Rillstone was a life member of VFW Post 4250, New Smyrna Beach, a 50 year member of Freehold, NJ Masonic Lodge and a life member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was one of the first to be granted a lifetime fishing license in Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Marian; 4 stepchildren, Edwin Miller of Jackson, NJ, Jeannine Molendyk of Las Vegas, NV, Robert Seaman of Port St. Lucie, and Richard Seaman of Las Vegas; 3 step grandchildren, Sara and Lori Miller and Robert Molendyk and a sister, Gertrude Schupp of Hazlet, NJ.
Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Rillstone's name to Leukemia Society of America, Central Florida Chapter, 3101 Maguire Blvd. Suite 101, Orlando, FL 32803.
