Obituary of Edward Carroll
Edward J. Carroll, 78, of Freehold Township passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at NY Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York. Mr. Carroll was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn before settling to Freehold in 1972. He was a U.S. Air force Veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Carroll was a diesel mechanic for I.L.A. Local 1814 and 1804, Port Elizabeth. After retiring, he was a bus driver for the Freehold Regional School District. Mr. Carroll was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold.
He is survived by his wife, of 51 years, Rita M. Carroll of Freehold Township; two daughters, Linda Reinen of Freehold Township and Lisa MacGregor and her husband, Sean of Parlin; a son, James Carroll and his wife, Linda of Toms River; five grandchildren, Chrissy, Nicholas, Matthew, John and Amber; and his sister, Alice Ruta and her husband, John of Massapequa Park, L.I.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 and Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 10:00 AM for his Rite of Committal, followed by his 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
