Obituary of John Ryan

John C. Ryan, 85, of Freehold Township died on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Jack was born in Dublin, Ireland and had lived in the Bronx, Chappaqua, NY, and Florida before moving to Freehold Twp. two years ago. He was a graduate of the Pratt Institute receiving his degree in Mechanical Engineering and retired from Centrifugal Associates, L.I. City, NY in 1995. Jack was a former parishioner of The Church of St. John & St. Mary, Chappaqua. He was a former Lieutenant of the Chappaqua Fire Department and former commissioner of New Castle Recreation. Jack was an avid golfer. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Helen in 1983. He is survived by his two sons, Kevin Ryan of Alabama and John M. Ryan of North Salem, NY; three daughters, Maureen R. McCann of Freehold Township, Christine D. "Tina" Corcoran of Massena, NY and Helen R. Sommer of Superior, CO; twelve grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Nuala McMahon of Dublin, Ireland; and a brother-in-law, Donald J. Harman of Osprey, FL. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at The Little Church of St. John & St. Mary, 15 Saint John's Place, Chappaqua, NY 10514.
