Obituary of John Breslin
John R. Breslin, Jr., 68, of South River passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at home. John was born in Jersey City and was raised in Kearny before moving to Lyndhurst and Iselin before settling to South River. He was a U.S. Army Veteran during Vietnam. John retired in 2002 from the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Union, Local 137. He was an exempt and life member of the Iselin Fire Department, District #11.
John is survived by his two daughters, Sherri Whalen and her husband, Richard of Tamarac, Florida and Lorri Breslin of Hamilton; a brother, Michael Breslin and his wife, Barbara of Toms River; and a companion, MaryAnn DiBella of Freehold.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle New Jersey Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arrneytown.
