Condolences
Rich was a very noticeable and active member of my high school class. He was a force to be reckoned with, especially during pep rallies. I still have a copy of the school newspaper, which featured "the claw", a distinctly Richie creation. I am so sorry for your loss. I know you will never forget him, but I hope the pain is lessening somewhat. The class of '78 will forever remember his exuberance and enthusiasm. My thoughts are with you.
When we feel good, and everything seems peaceful, we feel safe. No thought of that just in seconds, all could be different. When someone is taken away from us, we are deeply hurt and vulnerable. Suddenly we realize how fragile life really is. Chaos is in our head, it tears away the ground under our feet. Nothing is as it was before. Everything needs to be reorganized. It feels like it has been yesterday - that we have exchanged E-Mails. It feels like we have met yesterday – but many years passed by since. It would have never occurred to me that there could be a different time. Many words will now remain unsaid. I have got to know you as a wonderful person, with humour, patiency and a great character and I do agree with all who have mentioned the wonderful and contagious smile of yours. Words of consolation are like winds that cannot reach once heart and even though we will stumble - there will be a tomorrow – and God knows, we may meet again. It has been me - who has been sending you one flower for 10 days back in Tokyo 1987. I will keep you in my memories and my heart. I am deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Richie. He was the teacher who helped me learn important things - always with a smile and a fantastic positive attitude. My heartfelt condolences to the Holahan family. Dear Richie: Rest in Peace.
The news is shocking. When I think of Richie all I can do is smile. A good natured well intended true 'Brooklyn' guy that gave us all lasting memories. db trader would not have been the success story it was without Richie. Rest in peace Richie.
I am shocked and saddened by this awful news... Richie sat behind me in HS homeroom("H" last name)and would drive me crazy...it was such fun years later laughing about it at reunions!!!...and such fun chatting as well... RIP Richie...and thoughts and prayers to your family...
I worked with Richie at DB Trader but he was more than a colleague, he was a friend. He had such a warm and generous spirit and smile, loved to share his opinions and have fun and lately I have just been enjoying his rants and music shares on FB. My deepest condolences to all his family on this tragic loss.
Richie was one of the greatest people I had the pleasure in meeting. Always with a smile you can’t forget. We got to spend so much time together in the U.S. and out of the country, that we were more like brothers. With no doubt there is emptiness in my soul. I’m glad I had the pleasure of spending time with such a wonderful person. Rest in peace my brother. LET’S GO GIANTS

Rich, my heart goes out to your family, your children, and loved ones. I am going to miss your smiling face, your eclectic taste in music, and your political rants! We are left with great memories of you, and I am blessed to have known and worked with you the past 11 years. Rest in peace.
Richie, You will truly be missed. You were one of the GREAT ones.
I was so shocked and upset to hear of Richies untimely passing. He loved his french fries at my snack bar and always got Christine her hot pretzel, Griffon his giant ice creme sandwich and Haley her quesadilla! He loved to swim and dive and play with Griffon in the pool and I loved watching what a great and loving father he was! When my son got shot in Afghanistan last year he was so concerned and caring and as of last week still asked how my boy was doing. The swim club will not be the same without him and I will really miss him!!! He famous line was "My compliements to the chef!"
You will forever be in my memories of good times in high school and all your enthusiasm at our assemblies. So glad we were able to catch up through social media, however brief. The Giants have lost their biggest fan! My condolences to your family.
I attended school with Richie at Village School and NVRHS. I remember chatting with him at our last NVRHS reunion ... Richie had a great sense of humor !! My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
My thoughts and prayers are with Richie's Family, especially his children. He was a great guy who I had the privilege of working with at IFS. The world has lost one of the good ones. Thanks for all the music and the laughs buddy, you will be missed. Scott Gilson

Richie will be missed soooo much by sooo many! Through his music and rants on Facebook, he brought entertainment, amusement, and a sense of family to so many of us. We will all share in the loss of this warm, funny man!!
Richie- Great Guy, Great Friend, Best Man You left too soon, you will be missed! Looks like the Giants will be getting some help from above this year...
Words cannot express the loss one feels when a good friend leaves suddenly. My thoughts and prayers are with Haley and Griffin as we all remember all the good Richie stood for.
So sad to hear that Heaven has another angel. Growing up in the same neighborhood, going to the same schools, Richie was always so kind-hearted. He knew exactly what to say to make you smile, and his smile could light up a room. My sincere condolences to all of his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
What Gretchen Said, man. Too young, too much life left to live. DB Trader wouldn't have been the same without you, and the world will be rather poorer now. Peace and good will to your family.
