Obituary of Beatrice Moore

Beatrice DeCambria Moore was born 11/04/25 to Vivian Claude Samuels and Maria DeCambria in Manhattan, NYC. Beatrice and 4 sisters were sent to St. Benedict's Boarding School in Rye, NY when their mother died in 1928. Beatrice married Barney Moore in 1949 and graduated from the Bird S. Coler Hospital Central School for Practical Nurses in 1957. She received her license to practice as an LPN in January, 1958. She worked as an LPN at Kings County Hospital, in Brooklyn, for several years before moving on to the Board of Health where she worked until she retired. Beatrice and Barney lived in Hollis, NY, and later moved to Enfield, NC, in retirement. They were very active in the Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount, NC. Beatrice moved to Tinton Falls after her husband's demise. She was well respected by her fellow church members and friends and very much loved by her family. She was a devoted and beloved wife, sister and aunt. Beatrice was predeceased by her husband, Barney Moore; sisters, Margarette Sem, Ruby Crawford and Susan Brown. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Francisco; brother-in-law, Clinton Brown; sisters-in-law, Alzata Smith and Lottie Marian Wright; nieces, Mashariki Okbar, Dale Scooler, Lisa Gibbs-Davis, Joyce Smith, Elaine Spencer and Audrey Conway and nephews, Martin Gibbs, Cy Samuel Monroe and Claude Brown. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp. on Saturday, February 19, 2011, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with her funeral service at 3:00 PM.
