Obituary of William Krupp

William A. Krupp, 76, of Freehold died at home on Friday, August 24, 2012. He was born in Scranton, Pa., and had lived in Cedar Grove, N.J. before moving here 33 years ago. William was a machinist in the fleet maintenance department for Public Service Electric and Gas in Edison, N.J. for 37 years before his retirement in 2004. Prior to his employment at P.S.E. & G. he worked for Condenser Services and Engineers, Hoboken, for 13 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1961 through 1963. While serving his country, he participated in the 1962 integration of the University of Mississippi by James Merideth , as well as the Cuban Missile Crisis.. He was a member of the 716th M.P. battalion. William was a member of the American Legion Post in Union and served as a Eucharistic minister for 25 years at The Church of St. Veronica in Howell. He was communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township. William was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret (Krehel) Krupp, as well as his brother, Jack. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Ellen (Mackay) Krupp; two daughters, Mary Theresa Haas of Oxford, N.C. and Kathleen Margaret "Katy" Foley of Freehold; seven grandchildren, Karen Hayes, John Krupp, Tess Davidson, Abigail Haas, Mia Foley, Ella Foley, and Lily Foley; and one great-grandson, Jack William. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Jean Koch-Krupp, his aunt, Emma Plesnack, of Matawan, and several nieces and nephews. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Entombment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to Catholic Charities, P.O.
