Obituary of James Volpe

James Volpe, 17, of Jackson Twp. passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011 in Lakehurst. James was born in Staten Island and raised in the Prince's Bay section until moving to Jackson Twp. in 2005. He was a Senior at Jackson Memorial High School and was attending Kean University in the Fall. James was member of the Jackson Memorial Baseball Team and previously played baseball in the Holbrook Little League. He played travel baseball for the Jackson Rampage and Hurricanes. Through baseball, James formed friendships that will last forever. He also worked as a camp counselor for the Jackson Recreation Department. James was avid Mets and Jets fan. James was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, James Volpe. He is survived by his parents, Anthony & Christine Volpe; a brother, Justin; twin sisters, Jaclyn & Jessica; paternal grandmother, Rosalie Volpe of Great Kills, NY; maternal grandparents, Edward & Joan Corallo of Freehold Township; an uncle, James Volpe and his wife, Robyn of Old Bridge; aunts, Barbara Alexander and her husband, David of Freehold and Celia Marrazzo and her husband, Larry of Richmondtown, NY; and five cousins, Jared, Sean, Christopher, Joseph, & Jenna. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, New Jersey on Monday, May 16, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel's Catholic Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, Marlboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of James may be made to the Jaguar Baseball Diamond Club, 6 Bailey Court, Jackson, NJ 08527.
