Obituary of Anne Benko

Anne M. Benko, 90, of Monroe Twp. formerly of Toms River, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at The Elms of Cranbury. Mrs. Benko was born in Linden and had lived there and Toms River before moving to Monroe Twp. in 2006. She was a Sales Associate at Nason's Ladies Apparel, Linden, for many years. Mrs. Benko was a former parishioner and member of the Rosary-Altar Society of Holy Family Catholic Church, Linden. She was also a former parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, Toms River. Mrs. Benko was predeceased by her husband, John J., in 2005; two brothers, John Vanco and Joseph Vanco and a sister, Helen Spisak. She is survived by a son, Kenneth J. Benko and his wife, Carol, of Morganville; a daughter, Margaret Ann Tangas and her husband, Robert Stambach, of Monroe Twp.; two granddaughters, Jennifer Anne Tangas of Belleville and Nicole Alexandria Tangas of Budd Lake; a sister, Mary Kovatch of Lakewood; many nieces and nephews; and her "granddogs", Reese, Stella and Gunnar. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp. on Friday, June 17, 2011, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 18, 2011, for the Rite of Committal followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Twp. Entombment will follow in Ocean County Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River, NJ.
