Obituary of Biagio Scala
Biagio N. "Babe" Scala, 67, of Howell Township passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, September 1, 2012. Babe was born, raised, and had lived his whole life in Brooklyn, NY until moving to Howell Twp., NJ in August of 2010. He was a driver for the Pepsi Cola Company in Brooklyn for nineteen years retiring in 1984. Babe enjoyed playing cards, mostly poker and Let-It-Ride in Atlantic City. He was a devoted Yankee fan. Poppy loved his new home in Howell but his heart belonged to his family.
Babe is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marianne; a son, Albert Lonczak of Brooklyn, NY; two daughters, Angela Moran and her husband, Kenny of Spotswood, NJ and Biaja Mineo and her husband, Lorenzo of Brooklyn, NY; and his four grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Danielle, and Giovanni.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 9:00 AM for the Procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Twp, NJ for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.
