Obituary of Elizabeth Gunther

Elizabeth M. Gunther, 99, of Howell Twp., NJ, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp. Mrs. Gunther was born in the West Farms section of Howell Twp. and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Gunther was a graduate of Rider College in Trenton, NJ and was a C.P.A. in her earlier years. She was a homemaker. Elizabeth was member of the West Farms United Methodist Church and she was also a member of the Howell Seniors, and was a direct descendent of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Mrs. Gunther was predeceased by her husband, James Gunther, in 1967 and a daughter, Mary June MeGill in 2007. She is survived by a son, James B. Gunther Jr. and his wife, Marie of Howell Twp.; a brother, Thomas Clayton of Howell Twp.; 5 Grandchildren; 4 Great grandchildren. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp., NJ on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday, September 29, 2011, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale, NJ.
