Obituary of Joan Schriber
Joan A. Schriber, "Aunt Wannie", 80, of Colonia passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Joan was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA and had lived in New York City, Elizabeth, and Rahway before moving to Colonia in 1992. She was the office manager for Dr. Thomas Verrastiro (now Prime Care Medical) in Clark for over thirty years retiring in 2002. Joan was an avid reader, but her love was her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Burt; two brothers, Joseph Connolly and Robert Connolly; and three sisters, Helen McCormick, Olive Carey, and Jeanne Schear. Joan is survived by her daughter, Joan Leal of Colonia; a son, Joseph Novakowski of Colonia; two grandchildren, Jamie Leal and Joseph Novakowski; a great grandson, Angel; a brother, Jack Connolly and his wife, Ann of Garnet Valley, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, September 10, 2012 from 8:00 AM until her procession to the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell, for her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Toms River.
